TANZANIAN GOLD THIEVE CAUGHT IN KENYA
On
February 11, a Kenya Airways employee was arrested in Mumbai, India with 23
kilograms of gold worth at least Sh100 million
)then kra officials and customs officers on Wednesday seized gold worth Sh100 million at the Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
32grams of gold were found on a
Tanzanian national accompanied by an invoice of $859,890 after the officers
received intelligence on February 16.
The man, 46, was headed to Dubai
from Mwanza via Kilimanjaro.
KRA’s Customs and Border Control
took possession of the gold as investigations continue.
Abdalla Ali Said arrived aboard
flight KQ 210 and was apprehended while trying to check into a hotel near the
airport.
Sahar Police said that Mr Ali had concealed ‘the
gold in specially made knee caps and waist belt and worn it under his trousers.
